Thanks to all our lads and the guest drivers for today, we only had eight due to Jays cars being to rotten to weld & one pulling at the very last minute......well he said he`d let us know by 5.00 on Saturday night what was happening & we`re still waiting.


The lads pulled off a wipeout in the first heat against the Limo / Hearse tooled up Gravediggers team and the fared quite well in the final with Barton boys being beaten to the flag by some very clever blocking tactics by our very good friend Mr Watkins # 213 when Ian Webb # 18 & Davy O Connor # 146 were quite a way out in front.

There was certainly no shortage of interest in this one from drivers and fans alike putting Meifod a little village in Powys Mid Wales firmly on the map.
Bronymaen Farm was the venue and queued they did to watch blocking the main A 459 in both directions delaying the start time by almost an hour.
Once the stadium size crowd were all accomodated the proceedings began with Demons, Crashco, Telford Wreckers and the locals battling it out all day in a 13 race extended to 15 race programme to raise monies for local charities & the Air Ambulance.

At a time of much doom & gloom in the U.K. it was good to see so many people supporting this event that raised over
£ 4000 for the charities involved. ( Where did they all come from ? )

DIRECTIONS TO MEIFOD CHARITY MEETING FROM MIDLANDS AND WELSHPOOLFROM THE MIDLANDS. Take  M54 from Cannock all the way to it`s finish where it meets the A5, take a left towards Welshpool, keep an eye out for a turn for a place called Knockin, you`ll know you are going the right way when you see the general stores in the village called the Knockin shop. Follow  road through the next village Llynclys past the steam railway sidings to a crossroads with a pub called the White lion at junction. Go straight over crossroads & follow the A 495 towards Llansantfraid / Machynleth. Keep going through Llansantfraid onto Meifod village from where the track will be  signposted.FROM WELSHPOOLFrom Welshpool town pick up  A 458 Llanfair road / island by the light gauge steam railway. Take  A 490 towards Llanfyllin & keep on this road for around 7 miles till you come to a T junction from where  track will be  signposted.DRIVERS MUST BE BOOKED IN......NO ENTRYS ON THE DAY.

Davy O Conner and Mark Cassidy from Ireland will be appearing at the Meifod event as guests of the Demons.
They are racing at Coventry on Friday night and making a weekend of it meeting us in Meifod for the Saturday nights proceedings before racing on Sunday then catching the ferry from Holyhead back to the Emerald isle later in the evening.
